I WONDER it’s a special piece for BitBasel Miami 2022. I wonder it’s about duality, cicles, ends and beginnings, sunset and sunrise; wondering about the future of the ocean and what it’s needed to be done to restore its balance, wondering about all that hasn't yet been discovered underneath. And at the same time the feeling of overwhelming surprise, joy and wonder I get every single time I see a sunset or a sunrise and the amazing golden hour colors. In a very subtle way, without fuzz or anything to distract you, in slow motion. Dusk and dawn. Sometimes in between you even get to see the green flash. I WONDER is my tribute to the amazing sunsets I get the privilege to see every time Im in my hometown, wishing the landscape doesn’t change for future generations.

This piece, 'Truth To Power' - Seeks to bring light to and amplify the movement for justice and equity for Indigenous women and girls (MMIW). Across many cultures, long hair symbolizes strength and fortitude. The red hand represents the end of silence. The poetry within this piece is an intent of ceremony to show solidarity in order to usher in a radical shift towards a sustainable future for everyone. As an advocate for women and girls and with Tarahumara and Chinese heritage, the artist believes in the power of art to foster impact and manifest change.

Truth To Power

"Adrift" (aka 'Lost at Peace') is a series of derivative pieces baased on an original physical collage and 3D recycled rolled magazine piece that sits in a 10x10 shadowbox frame. The piece at first channels feelings of peace and contemplation, but upon closer examination acknowledged sometimes darker thoughts or worry. The collage images create the opposite views of the woman relaxing in the water while on the other side another lady screams out as if trying to wake the main woman in the piece up out of a slumber or to take notice. All the while the clock ticks away time away symbolizing that perhaps time is running out even though all seems calm. Again, upon closer examination you can see the shadow of a skull appear in the twin faces of contemplation signaling the end is near if something is not done.
The 'Adrift' series  is both peaceful and dark. It captures much of the situation and views of overconsumption and waste. It's there, all around us, but sometimes requires a close look. It's 'hidden' right before our eyes. Or we chose to ignore the issues. Time is not on our side, however, and while 'Adrift' presents two juxtaposing escapes presented in the sea to the right and the bar to the left. The seas present a calm escape as the lady floats…Or is she drowning? While the screaming face
in the window of the bar evokes more despair and heightened emotion that however seems to scream into silence.
Don't be fooled by the seemingly calm waters. It's time for a wake up!

'Adrift'

The NFT art piece Microcosm Macrocosm is based on the fact that our entire ecosystem is connected. My project supports empowering communities by reminding everyone how we are all connected and directly impact one another. Though we may think our personal communities and worlds are isolated from one another, what one person does on one side of the earth will eventually influence someone else on the other side of the earth.  The tiger in the jungle is in a delicate forest ecosystem. The koi fish in the pond resembles Yin and Yang symbols of balance, the give and take of life. The 8 shapes of the tiny jungle and pond mimic the shape of the Big Bang. The tiny jungle and the small pond are tiny worlds in themselves, but they are both parts of the greater picture of the Earth's ecosystem and the universe. We are all one and should work together, and be concerned for not only ourselves but each other. Just like we are organisms, the Earth is an organism, and the universe is living and breathing as well. We can take care of the earth, which prepares us to be stewards of sustainability when we begin space travel in the future as well. We won't make the same mistakes if we learn to take care of the Earth. What we do on one side of the planet impacts what happens on the other side, even if we don't see the effects immediately. The white tiger also brings awareness to improperly breeding animals. I don't encourage inbred breeding which harms the animals through poor genetics.

Microcosm Macrocosm

"Inside the tides" is an augmented reality piece created from a watercolour painting that was done on newspaper clipping of the Quoddy Tides.  The Quoddy Tides is a community newspaper published in Eastport, Maine covering several communities in Washington County, Maine and Charlotte County, New Brunswick. It styles itself the "most easterly published newspaper in the United States" and focuses on  news, stories and events that are pertinent coastal living.  It focuses on fishing and ocean life and how it sustains life along the east coast of the USA and Canada. 

Inside the Tides

"Satellite Rhino V" is one of a digital series by Sam Price, under a larger initiative spearheaded by the Lady Rocket Foundation and Copernic Space, to support Saving the Survivors and their mission to rescue and rehabilitate poached wildlife. Buying one or more of these works is not only a direct contribution to a virtuous organization, but also advances the development of the world’s first Wildlife Recovery and Rehabilitation Hospital in Africa.

Additionally, investors will benefit a parallel space venture. Bolstering the objectives of STS, funds from the sale of this work will support the acquisition of satellite data to improve the nonprofit's real-time tracking of wounded animals.
